Worksheet 08 (chap 7) September 2020:-

M. S. Word is WYSIWYG program. What you see is what you get program is the one that shows the document on screen, exactly the way it will on the print out.

Word wrap- In M.S. Word, when a word does not fit on a line, it automatically flows to the beginning of the next line; this process is known as Word Wrap.

Margin- The distance from the text to the paper’s edge is called Margin.

The margins are of different types:

3. Top Margin- This is the distance between the text and the top edge of the paper.

4. Bottom Margin- This is the distance between the text and the bottom edge of the paper.

Indent- The distance between text boundaries and page margins is called Indent.

There are broadly three types of indents:

1. Positive indent- With positive indent the text area is always narrower than the space between margins. That is, the text is little inward from the margins,.

2. Negative Indent- The negative indent allows the text to extend into the margins. That is, the text is little outward from the margins.

3. Hanging Indent- The hanging indent refers to further indentation of part paragraph/section. That is, the text with the hanging indent is little inward from the first line of text. Hanging indents are frequently used for bibliographic entries, glossary terms, resume, bulleted and numbered lists.
