1.     Different storage media have different capacities. Some media can be written once by the user, some many times. The table below lists a number of different storage media. Complete the table to show the characteristics of each:

READ ONLY MEMORY

3.     What does RAM stand for?

RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY

4.     Put the following characteristics alongside the appropriate type of memory chip:

• volatile                  • non-volatile

• stores the start-up program

 • stores the program being worked on

 • data put in during manufacture

 • data can be changed.

 

a.     RAM-  volatile,  stores the program being worked on,
